Baking day, cleaning day...

I'm going to probably be on my own a lot during the next few years so am trying to get more organised.
Now obviously some jobs need to be done every day such as walking the dog and making bread but I'm wondering if I'm better having a day for prepping meals and a day for doing the washing, the garden, cleaning etc Or I'm better doing a bit each day.

I tend to flit a bit so am wondering if something a day might work

What are your opnions?

why are you on your own?

I couldn't dope with only washing clothes once a week - I wash most days

I prefer getting stuff done in batches (plus means I don't get confused and forget to do something) so Friday is washing and cleaning day (bedsheets, towels, bathmats, clothes etc).

Sunday for food shopping, and if I get round to it Monday for baking (you bake bread every day? Perhaps I'm odd for liking wholewheat rolls better once they've had a couple of days to mature?)

It does mean that by Thursday the house is looking a bit tatty, but I can live with that.

Im very disorganised usually and have tried a day for a job, a day for a room, various other ideas and the only thing i have found to work is little and often. so today i have hung the washing, cleaned the kitchen, emptied the dishwasher, tidied the porch, tidied the hallway, put another load of washing in, as well as played with the girls and watched toy story! i did it in 5 minute bursts, even of an evening if i am watching a programme the break equals 5 minutes to do a quick job and its amazing what you can get done in that time!

the biggest thing that has made a difference though is de-cluttering dh and i spent the last week of school binning everything not nailed down, if we didnt need it it went in the bin and now there is so much less junk in my house its a lot easier to keep clean.

DH is in the forces, im not sure why you are expecting to be alone but i know that knowing he will be away makes me worry about getting the house working well for me so i can appreciate where you are coming from. now all i need to do is get all his junk on the computer running properly!

Hes hopefully going to be working away 6weeks on/off (makes it sound like I want him gone ) so he will be around a lot for some of the time but not at all for some iyswim
I have four children.

AnnoyingOrange I do two loads a day but I find it all gets piled up once dry ready to be sorted and put away. I was thinking if I did a day of just washing I might just get it all done and put away at the same time so I dont have it sitting around (except in the dirty linen)

It sounds like its swings for some and roundabouts for others. Maybe I should try it and see how it goes
