Food processor recommendations please

Am wanting to buy a food processor and would like to hear anyone's recommendations or ones to avoid! Also be interested in hearing what you think are must-have features.

I want to use it for things like finely chopping raw vegetables, making lots of breadcrumbs, mixing burgers, etc. etc.

I'm interested too - so will be watching any replies with interest.

My Kenwood processor (one www.amazon.co.uk/Kenwood-FP580-Processor-Speed-White/dp/B0000C6Y85/ref=pd_cp_kh_0 has just popped it's clogs so I'm on the look out for a new one

Now I liked the Kenwood one - though i can't say I was overly enamoured with the chopping discs as whilst they might chop a carrot finely there was always large lumps of carrot that got into the cut up bits so I never ended up with a bowl of finely chopped anything

Now this was my first ever food processor so I can't be sure if this is normal with them or not

I used it to make breadcrumbs so can say it's good for that, and I used the dough blade a lot too so I did the liquidiser, juicer and chopping blade - all good

Only complaints was the chopping blades and the back it always smelt if it was doing a bit job (that sort of over strained electrical smell)

I got the Kenwood Titanium the other day and it's fantastic. The price was good too, although delivery a bit slow (just over a week).

That's a mixer though isn't ti MisSalLaneous? Whilst I'd love one of those at the moment the money needs to go towards a processor as I chop, cut and liqidise more than I bake

Taking over your thread here ilovemyoboe - sorry!!

MisSalLaneous · 01/08/2010 18:53

Yes, but it's got a food processor and liquidiser too, so for me it was a good all rounder at the price. I guess if you don't bake much it's not worth the extra money for the mixing element of it.

Really!!!!!!!!

I'm now very interested as, whilst i can't justify a seperate mixer if it comes as part of a all in one....

Yep, this is the processor attachment that was included in my (Kenwood Chef Titanium KM010) pack.

Thanks for your replies. Sorry I didn't spot them earlier but was offline most of last week due to illness.

Will have to investigate the Kenwood Titanium and decide whether I would use all the features. Must admit I do still enjoy mixing things by hand, but sometimes would be great to not have to if I'm short of time.

Buddjela - no probs, hope you found it useful!

ihad a fantastic kenwood which died. i wanted a magimix but got another kenwood. tbh it is not as good as the old one. the build quality is not as good as they used to be. i will go for a magimix next time.
