Any one got one?

So long since we've been away I've no idea if there 'll be everyhing including the kitchen sink or if I'm expected to pack that to. It's a semi posh (delusions of grandeur) Cornwall timeshare lodge in crumbling stately home grounds.

What's essential so far I've got:
multitasking washing up liquid?

A sharp knife-all the cottages I've stayed in have useless chopping knives!

Agree with sharp knife.

Will you need dishclothes, tea towels, loo rolls, bin bags? Some places supply these, but could be worth a check.

Basic food items such as coffee, tea, cereals, oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, spices, rice, pasta, etc.

My top tip would be to contact the people you're hiring it from and find out what you need to bring in terms of washing up liquid, loo roll, liquid soap, te atowels, towels and bedding, tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper and other condiments, cooking oil, dishwasher tablets and washing powder. We've recently been to 3 holiday cottage where all of these were provided.

My second tip is to organise a supermarket delivery to your cottage so you don't have to pack up the car with food.

If you've got a child of potentially bed-wetting age a waterproof sheet might be a good idea.

Quite often they have stairgates and high chairs but you may have to state in advance that you'll need them.

Scissors!!

Spray bleach and cleaning cloths. We are veteran cottage renters, and one or two have been filthy.

I always take my own (plastic) chopping board as well as my own paring knife. Useful for picnics as well.
Spare corkscrew/bottle opener is vital.
