Personal homework on complimentary photography sessions

Hello fellow mums

Im looking for some honest feedback/advice

I'm a baby portrait photographer and mum to a beautiful baby boy. I'm hoping to return to work with a plan in place to enable me to have more free time with my baby boy, therefore I'm doing a bit of research to ensure each studio booking is genuine and to eliminate no shows.

Our studio offers up to 10 complimentary photography sessions a month for babies over 3months, in association with Emmas Diary. Each session includes up to an hour in the studio, use of props, photographing your beautiful babies/children/families in a range of scenes/poses. Along side a complimentary print (5x7" available to upgrade)

If you were selected and called out of the blue what info would you like to know?

Would you be willing to leave a deposit to secure your session?

Most people are a bit unsure when someone calls out of the blue offering a photo shoot (think there's a catch) over the phone, would emails or texts work better?

Our studio is really a friendly and relaxed specialist studio and we are there to provide an enjoyable experience. Our complimentary sessions have no obligation to purchase more, we are there to create beautiful photographs and to introduce you to our services.

What do you look for in a photography session?

Are you likely to purchase more?

If you were to purchase more, what would be your maximum budget to spend on photographs?

What days would work best for you?
Weekdays?

I would love to get some feed back

Thanks mummies

I would assume it was a scam and there would be a hard sell at the end.
Sorry.

It’s complementary.

There's a lot of this kind of thing about, and I've known people who have thought they've "won" a free family photoshoot, and spend hours in the studio, only to be offered a very limited selection of photos for a really exhorbitant sum.

Of course photographers need to be paid, but they also need to be really transparent about what they are selling. So I think whatever you do, you need to be really upfront about your prices, and what you offer, otherwise people will put time and effort into it and leave feeling that they've been ripped off.
