I am in need of some help, I have two children girl 16 son 13 and currently live in France however, we are returning to live in the UK in the near future, currently my son is in the French education system but my daughter has chosen to stay out of the French education system in order to better her English for the return to the UK and while this is perfectly acceptable as she is 16 I'm not sure how I stand with regards to my son,I know I am within my rights to do this for him also but, I don't know who I need to notify? Also has anyone had any dealings with "Oxford Home Schooling"? they seem very costly but also seem to have everything I need for my daughter to do 5 IGCSE'S while still living in France (she already has her Brevet) Many Thanks...

You don't have to notify anyone! There is no compulsory registration when you decide to Home Educate in England (or Scotland if you aren't taking them out of a state school to do it). You just don't register him with a school, and educate him however you choose. That can include exams or not, depending on what suits you and him.

I found this on a google:
Envoyer à la mairie et à l?inspection d?académie dont on dépend une lettre en recommandé avec A.R. signalant qu?on a décidé d?instruire notre enfant à la maison (nom, prénom de l?enfant, date de naissance, année concernée). Aucune autre condition n?est exigée.

So the only thing you need to do is write to the Mairie a registered lettre saying you ant to homeschool your child.
