HE in Germany

I know HE is outright illegal in Germany but I was wondering what age school is compulsory?
I'm guessing 6 years for beginning of Kindergarden but is pre K compulsory too?

Any loop holes regarding non german families?

DH and I would really love to live in Germany for awhile (we can be rather nomadic) and know it fairly well being that we have both lived there previously. But not if we can HE. DD is 4 years so not sure if it would be worth the up root.

yes lurking around waiting for/picking up dc. I know O-H-H like the back of my hand

I can't help thinking, diary, if some type of autonomous HE is your dream, (is it?) attending a school in Munich is going to be very far removed from that. However new schools set up by dp etc are springing up all over the place and there might be something if you search around that suits you. Since you aren't planning on settling in Germany, it wouldn't matter to you that much whether they were progressing well within the system IYSWIM

ZZZen HE has always been our plan for DC, not necessarily autonomous but not as constrained as School, I know a nit about Munich schools and there is no way I would choose to send DD.
I would be open to a Montessori or alternative style school if it had part time hours since we don't permanently intend to stay.

I'm just really missing Munich at the moment I loved the way it was very family centered and going to the lakes for a swim on a beautiful day like this. I just really enjoyed the life style we had there.
Will just have to remind myself of all the things I didn't enjoy like being verbally assaulted by shop keepers for daring to buy something. Or the amount of willys being waved around the English garden.
Actually in hind sight those things were quite funny.

LOL I meant I know a bit not a NIT about Munich schools.

Don't think I'd be able to scrub my house to German standards either come to think of it.

Ernest and Nightynight both live in Munich and so do a couple of other MNers. Why don't you join the German chat thread on Living Overseas?

here

ZZZen thanks I'd do that.
