Can anyone recommend a series of textbooks that would take me through from Year 7 up to GCSE level. I want to work through secondary level maths again, and try to improve my skills so I can help the dses.

I have posted this question in secondary education, but thought that you might be able to help me too.

Thanks.

I'm sure others will recommend better things but as no ones around yet... I recently had to go back to college and my maths skills were in serious need of brushing up! The teacher recommended a book called Maths: the basic skills Curriculum Edition pub.by Nelson Thornes here which explains key stage 3 and 4 concepts as well as some gcse in an easy to understand way. Or what about the CPG maths books? They explain things well and can help you to brush up quickly, and I think they go up as high as A level? I found I had to use the ones aimed at kids sometimes!

Well, my daughter has been using Revise Maths (Y7, Y8 and Y9, two books per year), by WHSmith. They explain things very clearly. We use the CGP books too, but the explnations are not quite so clear.
Once you've followed the Y9, you're certainly at a foundation GCSE level. After that, Collins GCSE Maths books are very clear.

Thank-you both - I'll have a look at those.
