Whoops, sorry pressed without first typing.

I plan to Home Ed my DC, although small we are already doing so, of course, nothing formal and quite autonomous at this age.

DS's aged 2 and 3 have shown great interest in reading books at the moment and DSs want to read mainly the Julia Donaldson's books over and over again ALL day...DS1 has taken a particular interest in the volcano that he's seen in one of these books as well as a list of other things - all good, I now find myself thinking of doing the volcano experiment, showing him this/that, drawing/colouring one... DS2 is fascinated by Tiddler and everything is sharks and fish... now i find myself wanting to tell him lots more.
My question is...should i just be leaving them to enjoy the books, discovering new stories and letting their imaginations run wild before introducing what i have in mind or is this the best time to do it?
I see a lesson plan in my head whenever we are doing anything and i'm trying not to structure things too much. A role play of camping last week had us covering so much in terms of vocabulary/geography/science i found myself jotting it all down that night.

Anyone?

i think if you think they will enjoy it then do it! children learn brilliantly through play, and it isn't as if you are pushing them to do stuff.

if they will enjoy the volcano experiment then do it. they may not "learn" much about it right now, but they will certainly enjoy it, and of course you can repeat it later when they're more able to understand what it's all about iyswim?

sounds like a plan! :-)
And good practice for me too then
