Home Ed Wiki looking for Book Reviews and Info about Local Groups

Hi,

The wiki I mentioned before: www.homeedwiki.co.uk/ are particularly looking for people to submit reviews of books about Home Education, and information about local groups in different parts of the country.

They have a list of unreviewed books at the moment, but would also be happy to have reviews of other books which HE families have found useful, and books aimed at children. So if you've read any of the following and could add even a small comment about what was good or bad about them, who might find them useful, etc, then that would be a useful pointer for other families.

Homeschooling with a Meek and Quiet Spirit by Teri Maxwell
Educating the WholeHearted Child by Clay and Sally Clarkson
When Children Love to Learn by Elaine Cooper
For the Children's Sake by Susan Schaeffer Macaulay
Making the Right Impression from Home Service
School is Not Compulsory from Education Otherwise
How Children Fail and How Children Learn by John Holt
The Unschooling Handbook by Mary Griffith
Free Range Education Edited by Terri Dowty
A Charlotte Mason Education and More Charlotte Mason Education by Catherine Levinson
Schoolproof by Mary Pride
Pocketful of Pinecones by Karen Andreola
Teach Your Own by John Holt and Patrick Farenga
One-to-One - A practical Guide to Learning at Home Age 0-11 by Gareth Lewis
The Original Home Schooling Series by Charlotte Mason
Dumbing Us Down by John Taylor Gatto
The Successful Homeschool Family Handbook by Raymond and Dorothy Moore
The Heart of Home Schooling by Christopher Klicka

They are also looking for links to local groups, and information which would be of interest to HE families in different parts of the country.

You can also add and edit information on all other parts of the site - I've already added quite a few chunks, but there are also a number of "paragraph headings" waiting for text from someone with a bit of knowledge about that area.

If anyone is interested, but doesn't want to sign up themselves, then I'd be happy to take your text and add it to the site on your behalf.

oh i must get around to this, thanks

i think they've left some important books off that list but presumably we can add them?

what a great resource!

You can just add in anything you think would be useful or interesting - that's the joy of Wikis!
