Hi Everyone! I'm a student doing a dissertation on the experiences of home education/schooling in the UK. If you are currently home-educating a child or young person or have previously been home-educated yourself, I would love to hear about your experiences. If you would like to take part please follow this safe link to my survey. Thank you https://forms.office.com/e/ig99AcnLCb

It's home education ( not schooling) in the UK .

Could you give us a bit more information before we click on the link? Not your name necessarily, but what are you studying and what university are you at? Why have you chosen to write about home education?

Hi rainrainrainrainrainrain, thank you for responding, I understand that in the UK most people use the term home education however I have heard some use the term home schooling so want to be inclusive of all.

My survey is on the experience of home education and reasons why people home educate. As the volume of children being home educated continues to rise it is interesting as to why people are suddenly choosing this option over traditional schooling. I am a social science student at the University of Plymouth in my final year, so far my research has found that many people have chosen to home-educate due to a lack of support from schools with their children's needs whether they are mental health or SEN or other behavioural issues. I find that this is due to a lack of staff and support in schools so I'm linking this to the neoliberal agenda of the government so far. As research is always fluid until I have finished data collection I am not sure what my dissertation title or what it will conclude as of yet. At the moment I am just gathering information on people's experiences and doing a thematic analysis on the answers l receive.
