Universal credit for childcare during school hours?

I wonder if anyone can advise on whether childcare during normal school hours is covered by the refund of up to 85% through universal credit. My child is 5 and her school runs 9am - 1pm. It offers afternoon care from 1pm - 3pm which I may need to use during busy work periods and I’m wondering if this part of the day would be covered by the refund through UC. Does anyone know? Thanks in advance.

I'm not knowledgeable about the subject, but I can't see why it would matter what time of day your childcare took place. Am I not right in thinking that the proof you submit in order to reclaim your costs does not include any details about the hours when the childcare happened anyway?

The official government line is that school is purely for the purpose of education and does not constitute childcare. This gets them off the hook for providing school hours which are adequate to enable parents to work. But by the same token, you cannot be penalised for your educational choices by being prevented from using childcare during what might be classed as normal "school hours", or being forced to send your kids to school so you can work.
