Recommendations for dc friendly kitchen scales please

I haven't got the wrong topic, I really am looking for a decent set of scales so that when I do cooking with my dcs they can actually do the measuring.

My current ones have such small spaces for such huge amounts it's ridiculous, but from what I've seen, this is normal. I think I must need one of those digital sets perhaps.

Thought I would ask you lot. What have you got? Thanks.

I've an electronic one, and my dc's help (they are 7 and 8). the display isn't that bg - you can probably shop around though.

I love the real old fashioned ones with metal weights. Not that I own a set, I have a plastic spring loaded one with the weight on a dial round the edge which my sister got free from something...

I got my MIL a set of digital scales for xmas from Lakeland. They have a large display which I though would be useful for her as her eyesight isn't that great....they would be good for kids as well I guess?

Thanks everyone. Terramum, that one looks great actually. I'd like a dial one but they are all rubbish if you ask me. They shouldn't cover 5 pounds but just say two and then they could have lots of room for the increments. (You can see this is an obsession of mine.)

So I shall visit Lakeland. Thank you.

We have a good sturdy (large) kitchen scale that we got from Au Naturale for a fiver. It's meant to look a bit vintage/old fashioned. It has a good sized metal dish that sits on top of a four-pronged shaped base. We actually use it as a postal scale (only does up to 5kg of course). But after braking so many ordinary plastic scales from weighing books/parcels of books, we found this one about a year ago and it has held up really well. I think they still had some in stock recently, so might be worth looking at them if you don't find something better. It has a very large "dial" and lots of increments.

Rachelinscotland, thank you,I have looked at the au naturale website but can't find how to actually buy anything, or see the products! Can you not buy online? Sounds interesting but I don't think we have an AN store near here.

Hmm, not sure if you can buy online or not! Never been to their website. We got one of their shops in our small town (which doesn't have much else besides Tesco), so I only know of them as a shop. Sorry.
