We are currently in a 2 bed HA property. No lift. 1 year old toddler who doesn’t like walking up stairs without chucking himself down them. 40 mins away or so from family and working partner. I was in a car crash back in December, then fell pregnant in feb/March time. Now been diagnosed with SPD. Also under the perinatal mental health team as I suffered badly with maternal OCD my last pregnancy, I ended up quite unwell so they’re keeping and extra eye. What a FAB mix.😁 Sent off all medical evidence to the council too. Physiotherapy evidence, perinatal team letters, etc.
We are back on the council list, been banded a c, we appealed this. They have put me in a ‘band A - 2 bedroom flat LLP’.
What on earth does this mean? Help!

I'm sure LLP just means local lettings policy.
Ring them and ask them.

I think it might be Low Level Priority - i.e. no stairs.

ShouldIbeEmbarrassed · 22/07/2022 08:20

Low level property, i.e ground floor so no stairs

Found out it means local lettings policy! For vulnerable people that need a quiet place to live which is nice.

I’m in a similar situation myself. Been offered my first choice council house. I have rejected it before viewing as the area is where I use to take my little one soft play. Stopped taking my child as I had experienced racism twice from the same group of people in February. I suffer from severe anxiety and depression and never came back to the area as I was scared. Now the council are claiming this is not a valid reason to not view the property. This might not be big to someone else but for someone with young kids single being abused racially but a group of guys twice doesn’t sit well with me. Am I being unreasonable as my housing officers clearly doesn’t know the extent of my anxiety which I take medication for. Any help would be great

Our local council have decided we are entitled to a 3 bed single level bungalow or flat - they have two properties that fit this description in their whole portfolio and they are occupied. There are two other families who need the same, one of whom is now in danger of majorly increased disability caused by living in unsuitable accommodation and we are heading in that direction as well.

Housing for disabled people is beyond crisis point - it is effectively non-existent.
