Ideas for toddler stage

Hi all,
Not sure if this is the right section to post in. I made another thread earlier asking what made people choose HE for their children. I have a 1yo and although we have a while yet, DH and I are looking into HE for when he is older. I've never been keen to send him to nursery or any other childcare (I left work and we took a financial hit so I could be a SAHM) but am curious to know how others have kept toddlers busy and helped them develop etc without a nursery setting? For context- my DS is extremely active, always on the move, less interested in toys and more interested in exploring (going into things he shouldn't be going into!) And also very strong willed and seems to want lots of independence! Hates being in the stroller, would rather walk and take a few falls along the way...you get the picture. I take him to soft play, parks etc but was after any other suggestions or even experiences with children of similar temperament :) TIA

If you haven't already look up
Montessori online - may be worth following folks on Instagram/YouTube. It might help you stimulate and support your son and encourage his exploration while teaching him to do it safely

You could join local home Ed groups on Facebook etc you might find there are local meet ups for toddlers. You could have a look at see if there are any forest school toddler groups locally - which could include parents.
Maybe build a mud kitchen if you’ve got a garden?

I would suggest looking into montessori too, The Montessori Toddler is a good introductory book that's easy to read. I like watching a YouTube channel and Instagram called The Way We Play - she has a four year old and one year old triplets and she's a primary school teacher.
