Are there any websites for phonics - teaching 4 y old

Ds1 is at a nursery attached to a school - so I know that they use Jolly Phonics.

He was 4 in September so is quite ahead of the others in his class. I have decided to try and start teaching him letters to try and challenge him a bit.

I am going to buy some of the basic workbooks from ELC but wonder if there are any good websites I can download things from.

Thanks

All of the Jolly phonics stuff is available in elc also BUT as my deputy teacher used to say when I was teaching enrichment, not advancement is the key.

Thanks muppetgirl - I am only intending to do it if he wants to and is interested. If not I wont push him but I think he is quite bright and would benefit from a challenge.

We have a car game of spotting letters in numberplates and the sides of lorries as he has learned 'o' for * for his first name and was so chuffed with himself he asked about 'd' for daddy and 'm' for mummy. He is looking at words and tells me 'that is a really cool word as it's got 2 'o' for **' We read a story every night and he has really taken to the letter spotting game.

We've decorated cakes with initial letters of friends in our street and have then given them to them.
He DOES NOT want to write at all so we don't.

He's 3.7

Hi, My daughter has just started school and they use jolly phonics, she came home the other night and she said she wanted the book and CD her teacher had so I looked on amazon and ebay and bought her one - its called jolly songs and teaches phonics through little rhymes. She has loved it and it was a bargain. (it has a yellow cover with music notes and a few little animals on)
Although I have to say I am bored of listening to the CD now!!

There is a great website that my dd's achool use called education city which you can join from home and has a synthetic phonics aspect to it based on the Govts new "Letters and Sounds" scheme (which is great). You can trial if for 10 days and it is really good - I think it cost about £30 for a years subscription - but I'd recommend the trial.

I also found this site which has some free downloadables as well as a disk you can buy with all their resources on it.

I would strongly recommend "Letters and Sounds" which you can get for free from DFES (www.standards.dfes.gov.uk). It is very comprehensive and is, I think, based on Jolly Phonics to some extent - there are certainy similarities.

Debbie Hepplewhite's own, online synthetic phonics teaching programme is now available, and recommended

www.phonicsinternational.com

You can download all of unit 1 (of 12 units) for free with no obligation to purchase the other units, though you'll need to register.
