HI,
Have you joined Education Otherwise or a HE online forum?
There are lots of Yahoo and google groups.
You'll get loads of support and advice there.
I know He rs that work part time, they share care of the dcs with husbands/partners/family or other HE families.
I personally find that if I want HE advice Mumsnet is not my first choice. (sorry MN)

I am having the same debate. Could you recommend a group? I am having trouble finding one on google. Thanks!

hi runnerbean,
yes of course. i did notice that the HE boards on MN are not exactly a hive of activity. i feel a bit silly joining EO or other org as dd is only 14mo and i'm just sniffing around really, trying to get an idea if i can actually do this.
anyway, i've joined EO now as i think i probably do need to get in touch with some others in SE london. which i believe is where you are..
perhaps we will hook up IRL sometime.
many thanks
WTSS

Hi,
You are more than welcome to come along to our group in Lewisham on Thurdays or meet us afterwards in Manor House gardens from 1pm (can't miss us we usually take the place over!)
There are babies, toddlers and older children, plenty mums come along with dc's much younger than school age, so you definitely wont feel out of place.

You will be welcome on the Eo yahoo lists and forums and probably will be surprised how many families are there with very young children there are there.

We have families with children as young as yours come along to our local meetings every now and again. It makes sense to me as when other children are approaching an age where they are expected to be going to nursery, it will be normal for these children not to be going as by then they no so many other children who don't go to school.

There is a yahoo list especially for families who home ed young children;
groups.yahoo.com/group/EarlyYearsHE -I think it is sort of attached to the Muddle Puddle site, which comes highly recommended.

WTSS,

Hi, our group isn't meeting next week because it's half term, (and don't have the pleasure of having the park to ourselves).
However, we are meeting again on 30th Oct.
I have to set up the CAT facility on here for you to contact me privately.
I can post on here nearer the time to arrange to meet you in the park on 30th, it might be better for you and your dc to meet more informally at the park rather than at the group, where there also tends to be a lot more people and it's easier to talk.
Today there were about 40 kids from babies up to 16, you'd be amazed just how many of us there are here in SE London!
