8+10 year old so can do a lot together

1x trip out a week (would be a full day)
9-12 (with a break at 1030) 5 days a week to do ‘work’ which could be sit down work or experiments/baking or similar or work related to the weekly trip (eg if it’s an art gallery then painting or researching an artist etc)

Afternoons for maybe a group or watching documentaries/playing in the garden etc

Social activities they each have one group a week separately

I have someone who can come to the house to tutor for English and set age appropriate work for each of them

Is there anything else I should be thinking of ? I was going to try and make sure we have some core hours for maths and English each week and then be flexible with the rest whatever they are really interested in or relevant to trips out ?
Would be grateful for any ideas

If it were me I would start small and see what works for your family. Don't overwhelm them or you with too rigid a schedule straight away. Focus on what's really needed. What do they enjoy? What do they struggle with? For example if they love reading ensure you have lots of time for that. Struggle with maths? Look up some creative ways to incorporate maths or play games that need math skills. Are they more focused after a snack? Schedule the more difficult tasks for then.

And I full day out a week sounds lovely but I wouldn't stress about it. Theres nothing wrong with smaller trips to the park and the shops and the bank etc throughout the week with a larger "trip" once a month.

Every child is different. You can get a lot more done at home with two kids, compared to battling a class of 30 with mixed abilities. I teach an 8 year old and 12 year old at home. They do some lessons with myonlineschooling, and I add subjects. They do 5-6 hours learning per day, but we have one afternoon per week for the great escape (workshops/ visits/ cafe). I find the 8 year old cannot focus more than one hour on one subject, so we mix it all up to keep the pace flowing. It has really worked out for us, and they are both making progress. However, it has been trial and error, and their schedules have changed since they started to reflect their other interests.
