Where can I get writing practice exercise book?

When I was young I remember having an exercise book where you would draw a picture on the blank top half of the page and then write a few lines underneath on nice widely spaced lines.

WHSmith has a writing practice exercise book which is out of stock so I don't even know what it looks like. Rymans and Woolworths have nothing.

My daughter is just starting to write and I would like a child friendly book for her. Any info anyone? Thanks.

We have a ton in our stock cupboard at school! Is she at school yet? Could you scrounge one from them?

Found some
here If you go to the bottom of the page, you will see Handwriting Paper with a Blank Top and you click on however which manuscript you want depending on how narrow or wide you wish the lines to be.

You are welcome . Have added that site to my favourites - should come in handy.

NAB3 · 24/08/2007 18:39

Smiths sell them

gibberish · 24/08/2007 18:40

Now she says - after I spent five hours searching the web for them...

lol

NAB3 · 24/08/2007 18:42

Sorry. Been busy looking after the kids and only been on here for 3 hours.

Need a facility for all threads added and new since last logged on as the search facilities only seem to give you so many so you miss things.

gibberish · 24/08/2007 18:44

Tut, looking after kids rather than keeping up to date with MN! You need to sort out your priorities!

Elf · 24/08/2007 19:59

Well, another website I have since found is Hope Education.co.uk which has some lovely looking books which I may get.

Friend got some in The Works or similar

Elf · 01/09/2007 06:42

FWIW, a Montessori teacher told me that it was best to let them only do a very little tracing, and to move onto practising freehand very soon ie to copy a word or letter onto a line freehand.

Got one in The Works and also saw them in a pound shop today - it's called a Story Drawing Book. Not available online though

Wilkinsons do these wring/drawing pads of paper. Pretty cheap too. We have a few - A5 and A4 size.
