How many hours a day does your 8 year old spend doing foraml written work?___wifeswap__ch 4__now__

She only spends 1 hour a day but seems to be spending the rest of the day playing or mucking out the horses.

One of my Canadian friends have HE their children until they went to school around 12 years old.

Not true - there are a few HE-ing families where both parents work full time. HE doesn't have to follow 'school-hours' and therefore the learning opportunities with parents are arranged around their work committments. Of course, as a species we are primed to learn and therefore, learning naturally takes place whilst the child is being cared for by someone other than the parents.

HE-ing families can and do use childminders and as a registered childminder I have cared for an HE-ed child - as have other childminders across the country (and that includes childminders who are not otherwise involved with HE in any other way).
