Home educating a dyslexic child?

I wondered if anyone has any experience of this/any thoughts? My DS is 8 and severely dyslexic (recently diagnosed). He developed school refusal at the start of this year which he has largely overcome but still says he hates school, has very low self esteem etc. We are doing lots of things to try to help (tutor, counsellor, liaising with the school) but I can't help but think he has been damaged by the experience (he loved school before literacy was so prominent) and would benefit from some time being educated at home to redevelop his confidence and creativity. Any thoughts most welcome, TIA.

My son is home Ed and he has verbal dyspraxia, anxiety and waiting for assessments for ASD and adhd. He couldn’t cope with school and we have spent 11 months de-schooling. He was like a volcano after a school day. He is calm now. And just starting to want to learn and choosing the topics he is interested in. Best decision we ever made for him.
