Home Ed our 14 Year Old Daughter and GCSE's

Hi All,

We recently started home educating our 14 year old daughter. We would like to create a structured learning environment and have been looking at a number of Home schooling colleges such as WolseyHall Oxford and other leading distance learning online options.
We would like to ensure that if our Daughter undertakes an iGCSE or GCSE through these online colleges that they would be accepted by colleges and thereafter universities.
Has anyone ever used these and if so any recommendations. As you can imagine this is a crucial period for any child when it comes to their learning and we want to make sure we get it right.

Hi, I don't know if I can be of much help as we have only recently started this ourselves.
We are using Wolsey Hall for German and Oxford for History and French.
We started with Oxford first before our dd decided to do German.
Wolsey was the only online school we found that did German.
We have no complaints so far but obviously we have no exam results yet!
I particularly like the Wolsey set up as you can see when assignments are due, there is a fast assignment turnaround and everything is submitted online.

IGCSEs are IGCSEs. To the college or university, it doesn't matter how the young person prepared for them. There's no question of not accepting them. Only the actual exam results matter. So you just have to decide whether the institution (Wolsey Hall or whichever you are considering) suits your daughter, whether it provides the necessary support and a good learning environment, whether it offers the subjects she wants, and whether it has suitable arrangements with exam centres.

On weekends people advertise the courses they provide.
