Hi all.
Many know my story but briefly have withdrawn dd year 10 to home ed before starting college pre 16 in sept. She will be doing a btec performing arts alongside English and Maths Gcse. It's the same board as she was doing at school until hand a term ago, so I just want to keep her going.
She's had a really bad time so her mood is up and down so we are also doing nice stuff, learning to cook, paint and eBay Smile
She dances 4/5 days a week and her teacher and friends are a great support and she has a few friends so socialisation is ok.
I have the books for AQA and we are trying to work through them.
I was going to find ways of studying the required books and can find the lists and instructions to choose some from each.
So my question is how does that work?
If we concentrate on blood brothers and Macbeth (for example) how does that work at exam time?
Do the college pick the papers accordingly and if so am I wasting my time?
Very confused?
Anyone know if any Gloucestershire groups as well?
TIA

Best to ask the exam centre, I would think!

This sounds like Englsh Literature. To prep for English Language read a quality broadsheet style opinion piece article regularly, discuss content/opinions. Then look at how the writer has presented their point of view and mimic it by writing a point of view piece on a topic of your choice. (PAPER 2). Also get familiar with the mark schemes as question demands vary. Misreading the question is a common error.

Are Lang and Lit the same GCSE but different bits or is it all part of one? IYKWIM.
I've just received the revisions and practice guide for language which looks as if it's going to be good to work through.

Separate GCSEs

Try joining facebook groups: home ed uk GCSE, exams and alternatives - home education the teenage years - home schooling uk etc. Loads of advice on these groups about GCSEs. Also check out website he-exams.wikia.com for all info on GCSEs. With all y=the new 9-1 grades, different boards, paper A, paper B, etc it's a minefield..
