The people I know with several small children go on using the nursery vouchers till they run out, have any 2/3 year olds with nursery or child minder a couple of mornings a week, keep the oldest in nursery type settings while they are still happy (Montessori nurseries often cheerfully keep children till they turn sox, and so do some forest schools aimed at nursery age children. Other than that, it's really just a matter of juggling the needs of three under fives just as you have already been doing. Do shifts with their dad, divide and conquer whenever feasible, get playdating with other families with children of similar ages and interests so the parent of one family can concentrate on some of the children and you concentrate on the others - we all improvise until we find things that work for us for a bit ??

And ps some of us don't use paid for child care at all, but manage in other ways.

Is there a reason you need to do anything differently to what you do now? Is your working situation changing?

If nothing is different except DC is/are school age then it'll probably be much the same as preschoolers, day trips, meet ups/play dates, access to preschool 0-5 type classes for music, gymnastics, crafts and such. Lots of activites for fitting in around your work or baby naps...never can have too much play doh, building stuff, junk modelling, board games, stories etc...

If you don't have set working hours then perhaps getting on with work either early morning or late night (as kids are in bed...I have a friend who does this with her 3 who were all under 4.5 at one time). When my 3 were under 4.5, I had family to help out with my part time work at weekends. It's finding what works for you and your family!
