Hi everyone,

I am looking for recommendations for books to use to practise at home for my 5 year old son in year 1. I have seen some good reviews about the "Bond No Nonsense", are they any other options for my son to practice at Home.

Also I am looking for recommendations on books that my 11 year old in year 7 can practise at home for his Maths, English and Science.

We will be spending a few minutes practising at home as my little son seems to be behind at school but don't want to load him with extra lessons after school from paces like Kumon, Explore ect

Thank you

Hello OP

I really don't think you can go wrong with whatever you buy but some work books are more colourful and less like work, which is what I imagine would be good for your little one.
They have several in "The Works" you can buy single subjects of core subjects or one bumper book covering all three subjects.
If you want a bit more substance you could try Schofield and Simm, these are very thorough but very dry, no pictures at all.
They all usually follow the nc. For KS3 books WH Smith is brilliant, I haven't tried their own brand though, usually opting for CGP, Letts, or Collins. My 2 ds used a mix of these books when they were at school and they had little revision tests at the end of each topic.
Hope this helps a bit.
We have never found a work book that fits for everything, so have a mix of various publishers.
