Hi all, ds is 21 months and will start preschool here in Spain next Autumn when he is 3. The Spanish ed system (at least in this region) is very chalk and talk, with very little motivational stuff, hands on etc and little or no arts and music beyond a bit of music and movement in the early years and the usual painting and glueing for little ones. I want to try and add a bit of excitement for ds, particularly as already it seems his learning style is very hands on! Any ideas or thoughts on how I can do this a)without overwhelming or overworking him (do not wish to hot house him, only to inject some fun and make what he's doing at school more interesting by adapting it to suit him), and b)well..... where do I start?!!!!

From what I have read about the Montessori methods this type of learning would suit ds down to the ground, any thoughts on how I can combine this with his other schooling? Anyone else trying to do the two together or is it simply too much?

Any advice very gratefully received! TIA

I'd be worried about overloading such a small child and would personally just carry on with 'regular' stuff like painting, baking, etc. which are hands on and the child is learning from, but things that small children will do anyway.

If you interact and chat as much as possible with your ds and involve him in as many of the things you do as possible that'll be enough
