Combining home-ed and work

How can you home-educate your children if you can't afford to give up work. I have worked part-time since returning to work when my children started school. Is there anyway of combining working outside of the home and HE?

Various ppl manage a variety of things. Some ppl run home businesses, others childmind or mystery shop, couples tag team with one working days and the other evenings.

I am combining flexi-schooling with my DH doing compressed hours. Therefore he works full-time hours over 4 days per week and takes one day off, so I work all day that day. Also DD is going to start going to school just a couple of half-days per week to cover my other hours.

You can use a childminder whilst you work and may be able to claim some assistance towards this (after all, even if the children were in school full-time you might have to use childcare before and after school). I occasionally childmind for a home-educated girl (who is 6), but stopped childminding littlies atm as my eldest son spent most of his time complaining and has been a bit of a PITA of late (to put it very mildly).

I also run an online toyshop and occasionally do fayres.
