Has anyone out there had experience of IGCSE and Wolsey Hall Oxford?
How much parent input needed or do tutors cover most of the teaching, are the books detail enough and so on. Are they are good alternative for kids not in education system in this country to then move onto further education like A levels.

I don't know about Wolsey Hall but we just chose an exam board and are working through the textbooks. They are mostly straightforward and any difficult bits can usually be sorted by looking at YouTube videos etc.
We chose our exam boards by researching what could be taken locally (CIE much more expensive) and by looking at the sample exam papers on the websites. It takes a bit of digging but, I imagine, is much cheaper than using a programme and you can tailor your approach to the learning style of your student.

Oh and my older 2 are heading for A levels at 6th form. DC1 has done biology and chemistry and will do English, Maths, French and environmental management next year. DC2 will do biology, chemistry and Classics (though she's doing that with a group as it's a GCSE.)

Thank you for your advice, someone else has suggested choosing exam board and going from there and seeing where you can sit the exam locally.

There is a yahoo email support group for HE families interested in taking qualifications. Folks there will have insight and advice on all the options.
