Currclick have lots of lapbooks
They also have a blank template for lapbooks that you can buy.
I used to think "argh its american and therefore no use to me" - but now actually I find its ok, unless its about colours!

I print everything out, any american grammar and spelling that is bothersome (some I ignore) I tippex over.

We prefer the little books that Evan Moor do - we stick them into cardboard folders and do a project that way. (I posted earlier today on MN about evan moor - hunt out my post if you are interested)

Hands of a child do the nicest lapbooks (as far as I remember) but once you have printed everything out on card, not cheap!

Try books by Dinah Zike for ideas too - Ichthus sell them I think.

Thanks looked at 1st link and all seem to be prefilled.

will look at evan moor in a mo.

from what i understand a lapbook is

a large folded peice of card.
with lots of folded inserts, pockets.
almost like a pop up book.

im after a simple how to template.
so I get get all bluepeter and maybe try make one.

we doing a project on butterflies.

Gold medal to me Torch - I have found what I have got which I think will be what you want. It has loads and loads of templates to print to make your own lapbooks. I got it in a sale and got it considerably cheaper but even now its only $7.80 so very reasonable if you use it over and over. If you sign in as UK and paying in £ it will convert to £.

ta da! 60 pages of templates.

Bless you thread watcher-thankyou so much.
i googled loads to no avail.
its seems quite reasonable.
do they take paypal?
do they take long to ship?

I didnt find it initially when I hunted.
Then I found it in amongst the other stuff I have bought from them.

This what happens.
Sign up as a new user.
Click to say you are in the UK (assuming you are!) - then the price will convert to £
You add things to your basket
Click the big FREE button on the left hand side cos there are allsorts of free things there (that may cost in the future maybe not) well worth a look. Some stuff is great some is dire tbh. (but the template thingy you WILL love - I prefer things all nicely printed out for me though so Im not so keen)
When you are done - pay. (cant remember if you can paypal but I assume yes)

Then they send you a download link so within seconds of you paying they send you the link to your resource. Your download it, marvel (if you love it) sigh (if it is not as you expected) and then you print to your hearts delight.

You now own that download for your use for ever. With your name at the bottom of the page to discourage filesharing.

I have my currclick files saved to a memory stick so I know where they are!

Enjoy :)

Try using the preview button as well (though not available on all products, when it works it is helpful)

Somewhere on there you should find a free how to lapbook guide published by journey through learning - hunt it out, you will find it helpful esp if you are going to make you own.

If you sign up to HomeSchoolShare's blog, they have free templates you can type in.

ThreadWatcher · 07/08/2012 13:50

There's also a website called edusen? that allows you to type what you want onto card templates......

Do people use lapbooks for older children too? I was wondering whether it would be a good way to present project work for my 12-year old?
