Thinking of Home ed Dyspraxic/Aspergers DS

Have been feeling let down by my DS school...he's 8 years old & in year 4 and was dx last year with Dyspraxia/DCD/Aspergers. Physio & OT have been into school recommending the changes that he needs I have been and talked to his class teacher who is also the SENco but seem to be hitting a brick wall, they have given him a laptop to use as his handwriting is so bad & a few other things but have since found out the he's had a IEP for a few years & never been told about it (he's also on school action+ which I found out through a report sent by a pead consultant!!).
We have a parents evening next week & have a few questions for her concerning the IEP etc, she doesn't think that she needs to change the way that he's taught & when I mentioned the Aspergers she said well we all have traits of that!
My dilema is that my son loves school (more for the friends that he has) where as I think he would progress more being home ed... I would love to hear from other parents that are home ed a Dyspraxic or Aspergers child & any hints or tips would be greatly recieved Confused

Oh I so hate it when they do that as if having traits of Aspergers and having the condition are the same thing (dont get me started Ill be here allday). My DS 14 with Aspergers Anxity disorder and sensory issues (hes hyper sensitive to everything ) is flexie schooled he dose a Btec diploma in puplic services at school an the rest at home , he has to stick to National curriculum for his core subjects but the rest he chooses himself ,we're currently doing all the great wars of the last 120 yrs and paganism ,I found having a clear written game plan for the week helps with step by step instructions of what he needs to do picture cards can help . plus he works better without any distractions, the best thing is just have patianice and have fun if your enjoying it he will and let him endulge his interests you'll find the best way for you and your DS good luck hun.
