Help! homework nightmare!!!!

Hi I am a mumsnet talk virgin so excuse me if this isn't the most exciting message.
My 7 year old has been given his new term topic homework on The Egyptians
and part of the task is to make a model of the sphinx!!.
Have no idea where to start or what materials to use.
PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!

Can't say I've ever had occasion to build a sphinx assist a child in buiding a sphinx. I can imagine that this homework is going to go down brilliantly with busy parents. When my dd was seven she could just about make a snake out of playdough!

I still remember when DD2 was about 6 at school making the mistake of thinking homework was for the children. They had to make an animal mask for assembly. DD2 drew some very 6 year old looking snakes on hers. I thought it was great. Then we went to the assembly and every other child had a mask that looked as though it had been designed and painted by one of the great masters.

Have fun sphynx making! You could send in a mummified Barbie too for extra brownie points.....

Don't you just love homework!

Grandson and I went to the charity shop and bought a barbie doll - didn't matter how tatty for about £1. we have some bits of broken jewellery around the house and used them for the charms to insert into the mummy bandages. This is where we got the idea from.
