Has anyone used vinyl wrap on their sides in the kitchen? Any good? Any tips?

I'm not 100% sure its the same, but our old kitchen cabinet doors were wrapped in what I thought was vinyl. The ones next to the oven eventually warped/peeled. We had the doors replaced with no vinyl and never had the issue again.

If its just on the end panels, then might not be an issue, but anywhere near heat- I'd avoid.

Ah ok thanks. It would be for the work surfaces (I always call them sides!) so near the oven with an inch or so gap each side

No- I've never heard of vinyl on work surfaces! Surely that would be even riskier if a hot pot/pan was accidently sat on top. Wouldn't it all melt? Of if you came of the chopping board and cut into it? What do you currently have as a work surface?

It would be for the work surfaces (I always call them sides!) Any reason why?

I don’t know - it’s just always been ‘where’s the ketchup? It’s on the side’ or ‘can you get the plates out and put them on the side’ or after dinner ‘make sure you wipe the sides?’
I can’t be the only one to use the term side or sides? 🤣 You’ve now got me wondering if I am crazy! 🤣

I had my whole kitchen wrapped including worktop and it’s great. I had a company do it and opted for a thicker “premium” vinyl and it’s great.
its a grey concrete effect, cleans well and looks brand new 4years in

I used DC Fix on my worktops and painted the cupboards 12 years ago when I bought the house. It lasted well for 6 years until I could afford to replace the kitchen. I was VERY careful about hot pans etc, although I don’t put hot things directly on the worktops anyway, and always cut on a chopping board or plate. The edges were starting to look a bit worn by the end, but I was very impressed how long it lasted. Always figured I’d have to redo it at some point, but it was fine.
