LVT in sunny spot?

I’m considering a glue-down lvt floor in my living room and kitchen. I’m leaning towards the glue-down lvt because of the fact it’s going in the kitchen and might be safer(?) but also the brand I’m looking at (J2 iconic range) doesn’t need gaps for expansion etc and can be laid up to skirting without beading.

BUT. My living room is south facing with large patio doors and the floor near the window gets a lot of light and heat in the summer. Does anyone know what happens to lvt under these conditions? Anyone had experience?

I’m scared it’ll either bleach the colour, heat up so much it starts to warp/lift or just heat up in the summer and burn my feet!

I have lvt in my kitchen with bifolds running along the back. It has bleached it slightly in the 8 years I have had it but no warping and doesn’t get hot eveb being in direct sunlight

Slight bleaching I can handle as a wooden floor would be the same. I’ve stuck a sample of the flooring in the sunshine in the living room today and it’s become VERY warm. I wonder if it behaves differently stuck to the subfloor…… just freaking myself out. I can never make big decisions like this without freaking out.

Can I ask which brand you went with if you remember?

I have it running through my entire downstairs wothout issue, the patio doors at the back get loads of sun. It does get warm underfoot but comfortably so. Can't for the life of me remember the brand, it's been down about 8 years....definitely wasn't Karndean or Amtico though.

This is all very reassuring so far, thank you!
