Does this even exist?

We would like a dresser and a dining table in our dining room but due to space considerations it would be a squeeze. Therefore I was wondering if there is such a thing as a dresser/dining table combo? So essentially the top part of a normal dresser and then where the bottom section usually is, that would be a table. Is that a thing?

I know we can buy a dresser and put a table against it but I’m wondering if it already exists as a piece of furniture.

I have to admit that I've never seen one (and I live in a tiny house where it would be perfect!). Could you buy a dresser-top unit and attach it to a dining table?

@Vroomfondleswaistcoat I feel like I’ve seen one somewhere but it might have just been a table put against a standard dresser!

We would need it to be quite robust as we want to use the dresser to display collectibles and as a mini bar so I don’t think a standard table would take the weight unfortunately.

I found this when I was looking for space saving tables the other day

Could you get a big hefty oak dining table? If you fixed the dresser top to the wall and also the table it would hold the weight...

(I am ridiculously invested in this now!)

Yes, something like that but much bigger and taller, a standard size dresser with a big oak table would be amazing. We have the floor space but not the wall space as the dining room has a lot of doors and leads into the kitchen.

Hmm this could be an idea as it is an external wall! The other option I was thinking of was a dresser that doesn’t have a lot of drawers at the bottom so it wouldn’t look weird if a table was placed against it. But again, I don’t think that exists either!

Similar to what’s been suggested. My mum has a dresser top fixed to her wall. Then the dining table literally straight under it. Looks really good as it suits her cottage look home. You could have an extendable table so it’s just for 2/4 most of the time but can make it bigger when needed. As the dresser top and table are very similar finish at my mums it looks great.

This must be what I’ve seen, and could be the best approach. Thinking about it we were looking at antique dressers that are usually in two parts so could use the bottom section as a cupboard elsewhere in the house and fix the top to the wall.

In my kitchen I have an antique extending leaf dining table with a dresser top (also antique) that I bought as part of a two piece dresser/top combo.

An alternative would be to have a carpenter make a shelf unit for above your table.

You could probably get something made by a carpenter.
