Kitchen wall cleaning

We had the kitchen walls repainted two weeks ago and i noticed a stain on one of them earlier so I used a slightky damp sponge to wipe it off. It is now streaky all over 😭

I saw that i should have dried it afterwards... no water was running as such so I thought it would be fine.

Is this salvageable? I"m scared to do it again and make it worse!!!

I also have harder stains that cant be washed off with just water on another wall. Can I use product, if so which? And again, how do I not ruin that wall too?

Thank you!

Let it dry then repaint that bit.

For new paint let it dry and re paint. Going forward Lynne Lambourne recommends Pierre d’argent for this. She did an Instagram post recently showing how it cleaner her stair wall paint. I haven’t tired it yet but will be

Thanks I think what happened is burnishing or marring? As I wiped the area it made some parts really shiny/greasy looking. It has happened on a few other spots I tried to wipe. There must be an issue with the paint, as even is i just rub my finger on it, it does it.

I tried to repaint the worst section today and I have made it even worse. I think I didn't saturate the roller enough with paint and it has that orange peel texture all over instead of a smooth finish.

Even though I did a better job with the second coat it hasn't fully fixed it, and is certainly worse than when it just had a couple of marks. I wish I had left it well alone.

It is the most visible part of the kitchen/dining room and I want to cry every time I look at it. I have ruined my brand new kitchen 😭
