Non-wool or sisal carpet recommendations for stairs and landing

Hi, we live in a Victorian house and need to replace the carpet on the stairs and landing. I like a pale colour as the house is quite dark but cannot cope with constant stains/looking dirty. Does anyone recommend a good brand of non-wool carpet or even sisal? Would like it to be easy to clean. Welcome all thoughts!

I have decided on mine after ordering hundreds of samples and going into a specialist shop to look and feel them all!

The SOFTEST faux sisal, in my opinion, is Alternative Flooring Faux Sisal
Anywhere Ca-rPET.
I have gone for Herringbone Code: 8352.

Its so beautiful, looks like sisal, feels softer than any of the others. I am going for a whipped edge (cheaper and same shade as carpet), but you can do a more expensive cotton tape.

Hope this helps others!

SORRY code was 8332!

@doctormumoftwo - can I ask how much that is?

For a small 3 story victorian house with stair carpet as a runner (not covering the entire step) + landings I got two similar quotes for all labour, removal of old carpets and fitting etc for approx £3500 . These were both high end companies with amazing reviews. Another company quoted £2500 but after reading their google reviews I was freaked out as so negative- so have decided to go for the more expensive one. I am confident they will install correctly and having seen samples I am really happy with my choice. Even my husband agreed it was soft and happy to have faux sisal! So a winner!

Thank you - it is also for stairs here so adding in an extra floor at £1k seems about the right amount

fitted carpets throughout our cottage last year. It's Cormac Primo Texture - I think the colour is Elk (can't really remember) but they do lots of neutral colours.

It looks sisal-ish but feels like soft carpet.

Still looks as good as new a year later. I've got ink, coffee and tomato sauce up off of it with just a damp cloth. It was really inexpensive. I

We recently had this Lewis Abbott herringbone fitted on our stairs and landing. It looks fabulous! We chose polypropylene because we have a problem with moths and so far I haven’t seen any of the buggers!
