What to do with this room?

I have an open plan long thin hallway into living room with open fire and that leads directly into a mid sized room currently used as a playroom. That room has a large internal window looking into the kitchen/ diner/ which also has small sofa and tv. Diner. It’s no longer needed for a playroom so is essentially unused but as you see it when you come in I’d like it to be something rather than a dumping ground.
what can it become? I have tvs in both sitting room and kitchen diner so don’t need another one. Also have home office upstairs. Single parent with 13 year old boy and 9 year old girl, both have additional needs and like to be near me in the house (not that it’s big at all!) so it’s an odd empty space just now. Any ideas? We don’t play instruments etc so can’t be a hobby room, and i have books in the living room i read by the fire etc so I can’t think what to do with it!

Do / would your children be benefit from any sensory input - you could install a swing chair, bean bags, oversized floor cushions, maybe some sensory lighting etc to make a sensory area?
Personally I'd have a library or craft room, but thats my hobbies. Is there anything you'd like for you / your family, any activities you do together? Another table for jigsaws / games? I'd love to have space for an ongoing jigsaw rather than a jigsaw roll as I forget we started one!

You can get some amazing indoor climbing frames if that would be a useful thing. Or you could turn it into a gym?

In my house, it would become the Lego room. Lots of shelves for models and boxes for pieces. My teens still enjoy Lego.

also storage for board games and other grown-up toys

Oh these are good ideas! I will be honest and say I never do the gym (I do love walking) and I think because it’s what you see when you walk in (as the door opens right onto open plan hallway / sitting room/ this room I don’t think gym equipment would look as cosy as I like things! I don’t do any crafts but maybe it’s something I could take up. I like the idea of a sort of snug with no tv but a table for jigsaw etc. worried this might look too much “sitting” areas in house tho. Again it’s not a big house and I already have 2 x sofas in different rooms and cosy spaces.
also love the idea of sensory room but my daughter has this already in her bedroom upstairs. Great ideas, thank you!

Sadly no activities we enjoy together. Wish we did. but they both need time away from each other sadly when dysregulated.
