Temporary warmer curtains

I have moved into a house with really thin curtains over two French doors. It’s pretty cold! We’re planning to renovate this year so I don’t want to buy proper thermal blinds or curtains at this stage. Can anyone suggest solutions? They are pleated curtains in both cases, could maybe attach separate thermal curtains to the header tape in one case but not the other. Thank you!

Check in charity shops they often have thick velvet curtains. You might need to take up to make them fit but you could ask on fbmp for someone to do this for you and pay them.

Was also going to suggest charity shops, or facebook marketplace.

I got good ones from B&M for a reasonable price.

IKEA do thermal backing liners relatively cheaply.

Check out this GLANSNÄVA from IKEA

Here's a little more information:

Curtain liners, 1 pair, light grey, 143x240 cm

If it's tricky to attach thermal linings to the curtains, can you use self adhesive velcro to attach them to the window frame instead.

Ebay might be better for thick curtains.
