An answer to stop my garden being an ice rink!

We’ve had our front garden done recently. It’s beautiful and was reccomended to have this certain type of t patio slab. We went with it and it’s very nice. But extremely slippery and it’s getting me down. I have a 4 year old who is very clumsy and it only takes him jumping or running and he’s on the floor. Also can’t get pools etc out in the summer. It cost so
much I don’t want to layer it with grass. It’s also all down the steps. Any answers to treat or anything this floor to help it become less slippery?

Jet wash it?

rubber lattice style mats? you can still see the slabs but the rubber will stop slips. you get them stair sized too.

It’s the tiles that are slippery!

We have them on our steps. I don’t really want them all around the garden. It’s quite a big space.

We have printed concrete and the firm that did it, sprayed an anti slip coating on it.

If it’s that slippery, it’s not fit for purpose — call whoever supplied and installed and ask them to rectify? I mean, no one wants patio slabs you could break your neck on. You say someone recommended these slabs — why did they specifically recommend these?

What kind of tiles? They don't sound suitable for the location?

You can buy clear anti slip paint (well, it's a chemical), Stone Grip, which etches the surface. Have a look at something like that? I don't know what difference it'll make to the aesthetic.

Do you happen to know what it’s called?

To be honest I think they were cowboys. Did a lovely job in the end but trouble all the way through really. They said they were good. But obviously just meant to look at and didn’t realise what they were like. Unlikely to get them back and wouldn’t trust them anyway.

Sorry for not replying sooner. I don't know the name, but perhaps if you contact a reputable hard landscaper they could point you in the right direction. Good luck !

I think the DC will get the hang of it pretty soon
