I’ve recently done a rewire and now waiting plumbing

I’m taking the wallpaper off… after this do I go ahead with plastering? Or wait for plumbing… I’m getting a new boiler and radiators.

I say wait for the plumbing incase the ruin bits of the plaster as the may need to move pipes or radiators ect.

What replumbing are you getting done?

Guavafish1 · 06/12/2025 03:34

New boiler which is moving from kitchen to bathroom and also new radiators.

also there will be a change to the underfloor radiator pipes… they said they might be too small.

I’d love to get guide in what to do next too whilst I wait for the plumbing

If there is pipe work to do, chances are there may be floors to come up. Personally, I would wait and get the bones of the house done. So electrics, then plumbing, then any insulation and making good/ plastering/ floor reboarding. Then decoration.

Nothing to stop you prepping woodwork for repainting.

Are you moving any of the radiators? First thing I would do it decide what radiators you want and whether they need to be moved to different places in the rooms. Once you have done that, you can disconnect any radiators which are being moved, drain them and get rid and then you can get the rooms plastered and start decorating. Work on it a room at a time so it isn't overwhelming.

Are you going to need new windows or are they OK?

Don't prep woodwork till after the plaster has been. They are very messy and always get plaster everywhere so all the woodwork will need a wipe down and maybe a sand afterwards.

Have you thought about where the pipework will run between the upstairs and downstairs? Also you could take up a board to see what the pipework under the floor it like so you will know if you need new pipework.
