Painting with a 3 month old

We need to decorate our house! Been here 3 years and moved in heavily pregnant then have had baby-toddler, pregnant again and have a 3 month old now. It’s been the last thing on our mind other than my girls nursery and ‘big room’ done. We need to start painting and want to do it bit by bit.
would you recommend this with a 3 month old? He won’t be sleeping anywhere we paint? We want to start with the downstairs bathroom (he obviously doesn’t go in there) and then we need to decorate his nursery for when he moves in a few months! Is this safe?? We’d be using (most likely dulux) emulsion paint and we always make sure it’s low-no VOC! Will have windows open and the door shut to whatever room we are painting?
Does anyone have any advice or thoughts on this? Or has done this themselves? I’m very anxious when it comes to fumes around babies!!
thank you

One of you paints in the evening when your toddler is asleep and the other person is holding the baby. Fumes are fine for water based paint that's well ventilated and left to dry.

As someone who is renovating a v old house with a three year old, I genuinely thought this would be about how best to find the time 😂😂😂

The paint will be fine with the baby, just air the house as much as you can. Getting it into the walls however as life goes on in the midst is the biggest challenge I’ve found!!!!

Aha there is also that! My toddler goes to nursery a few mornings so hoping to do it then! I’ll be with the baby while my husband does the painting!
I thought it would be fine but I also get very stressed about these things and we’ve put off doing lots already when my toddler was a baby! Very sick of staring at yellow/magnolia walls😂

Personally I use a brush...

No personal experience of decorating with children but have you looked at this Finnish paint company, Tikkurila? It does ultra-low VOC paint, so if you’re anxious it’s probably worth a look. Good luck with the painting!

go and see your GP about your anxiety levels

My 3mo was totally bald, would have been no good as a paint application method...

I’ve used Edward Bulmer paint to deal with the fumes. The difference compared to dulux was enormous.

I second Edward Bulmer paint...it's breathable, plastic-free and vegan (made with a plant-based binder). I'm sensitive to fumes from products like paint but Edward Bulmer smells lovely!

We've used it in three rooms so far in our old cottage and the opacity is so good it only requires two coats max, unlike Farrow & Ball which sometimes needs four!
