Help me with my bland hallway- ideas needed

Desperately in need of help. No idea where to start. I have oak doors and beige tiles throughout the hallway which I'd like to keep if possible. I have looked into buying black doors, but not sure if that will suit. The white walls make my house look clinical. i want a warm inviting hallway, not grey though. I've been looking at paneling the bottom half and that looks good. I have no idea which apps to use, but I'm sure we have some creative ladies on here that can help me. here are pics of my current hallway

I think the tiling is really strange for a hallway etc. it’s like a bathroom tile. A warm wood be so much better. I know you said that’s not an option but it’s what is needed. But changing the wall colour would help too, I like the green.

Agreed. It says bathroom to me, too.

It's not what I'd have put down but it is a very big job to change it and I think a runner will go a long way towards helping with that.

I would get rid of the black furniture. The black mirror frame is horrible.

Find a floor runner first with a colour in it that you like. Then you can match your paint.

Then I would buy some nice wooden furniture - second hand if possible. Choose an era. Good quality. It’s warm, friendly and useful.

I agree, I’d had enough of trying to keep my very light cream carpet clean with young children around and thought that tiles would be easier to clean. I really should have gone for the oak wooden floors I put in throughout the rest of the house :-(

Thank you for that comment. I’ve had the black mirror long enough. I agree it should go. I think I have the perfect oak sideboard to go where the black table is. I just need to find a suitable mirror (maybe a round brass one) to go on top

Using the lamps will soften the look enormously at night (if you turn off the overhead lighting).

That plus a runner and, (I'm sorry because it's expensive, changing your front door to echo the nicer oak ones as a pp suggested), would do the trick I reckon.

I think there is a slight conflict going on between your black/ silver monochrome look and the wood doors. To me the doors call for warmth and the furniture and accessories are wanting to take it in a cooler palette/shade direction.

The front door was going to get changed anyway. I absolutely hate the white pvc one we have. So I’m still on the search for a decent door (preferably solid oak if I can afford it)

I think that will make a big difference and look great.

I would have half a dozen medium to large framed prints on the wall above the stairs.

Ditch the black furniture and go for oak like the doors. Paint the walls and ceiling the same colour (I like the green). Choose some nice light fixtures or lamps, the harsh ceiling spots are very cold. Once you change those things, the tiled floor will fade into the background. You could also try a natural jute/ sisal rug to add more warmth. You could also take the carpet up off the stairs, paint them and add a jute/sisal runner.

Warm colour on walls echoed in rugs/runner, stair carpet and window blind.

Do not add black!!!
