Polyflor Camero LVT - Is it any good and does it fade?

We are considering polyflor Camero LVT done in herringbone for our kitchen and hallway floor. Some people have told us they love it and others have talked about bubbling and fading.

Would love to hear people's experiences.. longevity, scratches, how do you clean it, is it any good with underfloor heating, does it fade in sunlight etc?

We have a south facing kitchen with a lot of glass so it will get lots of UV exposure.

Also open to other recommendations. Thanks !

I have it in my hallway and kitchen. I childmind so have numerous people traipsing through each day and it's been bombproof. It's been down for 8 years now and looks as good as new. I don't give it any special treatment. I just sweep it with a brush or hoover it then use a spray mop filled with washing up liquid and water.

It sounds ideal! Thank you! Exactly what I'm after. Is any of your flooring exposed to direct sunlight?

Yes some of it is but I don't see a different in colour. Obviously mine was made a while ago so I don't know what the quality is like now.

Good timing - I checked how long I’d had mine down only yesterday after I was sweeping it and it’s been five years. I have it in the hallway and diner kitchen - the latter is a west facing room which has the sun all afternoon and evening.

It still looks brand new. Not a bubble or crack, no fading. It’s probably the best house investment I’ve made.

Thanks all! I am sold!

Great stuff. It’s also made in the UK, near me, so you’re helping our UK industry too.

I had Polyflor Camaro wood effect plank tiles fitted in my hallway & downstairs (almost no sun) about 15 years ago.

I then had the same fitted in my kitchen, utility & conservatory nearly 6 years ago.

We've had 2 dogs for most of the last 6 years, plus hallway obviously gets lots of wear.

I'm very happy with it.

  • I had a very small area lift where it wasn't fitted quite right (against an edge and it needs more latex underneath - my fitter was happy to rectify it.
  • in the conservatory it has definitely faded. I had a doormat in front of the patio doors which I threw out after the dogs died, and you can see the difference between underneath that and the rest.
  • no bubbling.
  • no scratches from the dogs etc.

I've just had some Amtico laid in my ensuite, mainly because I preferred the pattern and only needed a small amount which I managed to get cheap on Ebay.
I can't see or feel any difference between the two.

Thanks for sharing! It sounds really solid. The one we've seen is the stick down tile version - hopefully this will be as hard wearing!

Mine is stick down - they are just plank sized.
