Buying bin liners for a loo bin that don't overhang

I'm about to buy two small matching bins for upstairs and downstairs loos but this is about the plastic bag/liners to go in them. I don't understand how to buy these and not have the bags/liners sticking out the sides, upsetting the look of the bin I've just bought. I don't mind so much for the bathroom, or the kitchen, but for the loo it just looks more obvious, it looks untidy.

Now, with Brabantia bins they do sell liners that sort of clip into place so you don't get the overhang - but the liners are not cheap which leads to another question - is there a cheaper option for buying Brabantia-style liners? Generally I just opt for the £1 black bin liners instead as they are obv cheaper!

I suppose the liners don't have to overhang - but you can't very well just have them sitting in the plastic bin and stay in place, it doesn't work imo.

Any thoughts?

Don't most bathroom bins have a bucket inside the bin that you can take out? So you just tuck the binbag round that and put it back into the outer bin with the edge tucked in?

Ah.

This is why I would never have been any good on The Krypton Factor. (Practical assault course show requiring team playing ingenuity, for Mumsnet's younger readers...)

Yes, I have brabantia loo bins. I do buy the branded brabantia liners because they work very well. They fold over the internal bucket’s rim (there is a drawstring so you can pull it tight) and then it gets tucked into the outer bin. It’s all quite tidy. The bins are excellent, I’ve had one of them for years.

I can’t actually believe I just typed out a post about how I fit my replacement bathroom bin liners 😱

I don't see the point of bin liners, especially for the loo bins with the removable bucket. It's just extra plastic going into the environment—what do you actually need them for?

I assume people use them out of habit. Like when I see people at the supermarket putting bunches of bananas in plastic bags. Mad.

Well, I assume it's because mucky stuff might be going in there, such as used tampons or what have you, dirty tissues (I don't mean used bog roll), so you have to empty it out and then clean the plastic bin, which could get a bit horrible. Same reason I guess with the kitchen bin although there you do have other variable mucky stuff like used kitchen foil and so on.

I'm surprised if nobody has come up with a wheeze to mimic Brabantia's tidy but if I recall pricey bin liners at a cheaper cost.
