Any damage to Tv above a log burner?

I’d like people’s experience with this. I’m having to put the tv above a log burner (not interested in decor tips, it’s trashy etc as I have no choice in the room)
I’m thinking of getting a frame tv and just want to know how your tv’s are fairing with the heat and dirt?

Can't image for one minute it would do it any good.

This seems like a really bad idea for an expensive TV to me.

Depends on your house make up. My house has 70cm thick granite walls, the chimney breast is a good 50cm thick, properly lined etc and id contempleted putting the tv there. The wall has never been warm to touch when the fire is on, but the live edge mantel we have is too high to put a tv above it without causing neck strain.

A newer build with bricks, not a chance id put a tv on its breast.

We installed a Frame above a log burner a few months ago. It’s fine as long as you meet the minimum distance between the two - your installer should be able to advise on this.

We have ours above the log burner. No issues so far. There is a marble mantle which protects it.

Generally putting a tv above any sort of heat source is a bad idea, but if it's the only place to put it not much option. It will probably shorten it's life one way or another. A solid mantle shelf over the fire should help deflect a lot of the direct heat which might help.
