Hi! New to the home decoration forum.

I'm looking to turn this into a (temporary, 2 years or so) makeshift "wardrobe" for a small child. Basically just need two rails to hold tops and trousers. I wondered about removing the middle shelf and buying two of these but unsure how i would cover it so that it isnt unsightly?

Does anyone have any experience with those adjustable rails and any clever ideas for how to disguise a makeshift wardrobe?!

Any ideas to turn this into clothing storage?

Would tension rods and a curtain rail work?

Thanks for getting back to me. Do you mean something like this separate from the clothes rails? I wonder if I could put them below the top shelf so that the curtains just cover below that, or would it look better to have curtains covering the entire thing?

As you can probably tell I am very new to DIY/decoration!

@Lookingforhomesolutions if it was me I would put tension rods inside the cupboard. Then a curtain pole on the outside so it makes a door if that makes sense!! Hard to describe without a diagram lol

I'd remove some of the shelves and but brackets each side to hold a pole.
I'd leave the shelf brackets.
Tension rods would be simpler.

You could do something like this to hide the shelves (curtain on a wire)

Will it be wide enough for hangers? It looks quite narrow? Could the clothes be stored folded in boxes or baskets rather than hung?

Yes, that's the tension rod.

I'd get boxes and baskets that fit the shelves. You'll get more stuff in there.
Space the shelves better, and put toys at the bottom.

You could add doors. if there is room for them.

This is what I’d do rather than hangers
