Has anyone successfully used this? I loathe our black granite counters but they're stuck to the kitchen carcasses beneath and I can't afford a new kitchen. I thought this might be a good short term option? Has anyone successfully fitted it? What's it like after a few months? Thank you!

Hi, I moved into my flat and due to needing to spend money on things like windows, an exterior door, radiators etc, I couldn't afford a new kitchen. So I covered the units in blue wood patterned sticky back vinyl (DC fix), bought new handles and did the work tops in wood grain look DC Fix - both look great. I've been here for two years and it's never budged. Even where the cupboard is over the kettle, the vinyl hasn't peeled or anything.
If you're short on cash and need to update the units or work tops until you can save enough for new ones, I'd definitely recommend. I bought the DC Fix from a shop on Ebay.

Can you unscrew the countertop and buy a cheap one from something like Ikea?

I wouldn't use peel and stick for a countertop because I think it will scratch, melt, fade where you clean it and generally look naff after a fairly short time.

None of those things have happened to my countertops.

Thanks for the info, appreciated. I suppose if I try it and it looks terrible I can just remove...
