Will this look really odd?

I'm in process of ordering venetian blinds. We have 4 windows at the front of the house, but I only really want blinds for 3, which are the kitchen, the main bathroom and the en suite shower. I don't want blinds in the front main bedroom.

Am I right in thinking it will look really odd to have 1 window without? Like maybe we ran out of money?😅

You’re overthinking this. Curtains in bedrooms and blinds in the kitchen and bathrooms are fairly standard.

I do have a tendency to overfocus on things and get lost in the weeds.

well it might 'look odd' so I might choose something that was equally suitable for all the windows. But because aesthetically it would bother ME, not because some random might think I'd run out of money for the 4th one.

Yes, I was just joking about the money. I do think it would bother me from the outside because it looks incomplete.

I think if I had 2 windows without and the rest with, or, if there was a combination of different treatments, or even if the venetian blinds were different colours, it wouldn't bother me so much. But just 1 window when all the other windows have exactly the same blind and all the same colour just seems strange . . . but I also don't want a blind in the front bedroom! :(

I don't really know what else I could have that was equally suitable for all windows. I think venetians are perfect for bathroom and shower rooms and also for kitchens.

What about 'fake' wood blinds (white would be my preference. 'Fake' wood so they're suitable for the bathroom,

roller blind for the kitchen? (Easier to wipe clean too)

Yes, fake wood might be the answer, especially for the bedroom. I couldn't have a roller blind in the kitchen window though as it's an odd one. It's a long and low window, almost ground level, and it's at the front of the house.

We're not on a busy road but still plenty of people walk past. At the moment we've got voiles up.

If we had a blind it wouldn't solve the privacy problem as when it was 'up' we would still have the same problem as now, and it would block the light and view out when it was down.

if we had a roller blind, I meant.

I put up wooden slatted blinds on all my windows for this reason, but in the bedrooms we also have curtains to soften the look internally. In my opinion it looks much more uniform and pleasing from the outside. We can angle the slats to reduce people seeing inside which is fab. Guess it depends on why you don’t want blinds in the bedroom and whether you could do both?!

edited to add the ones we have are wood covered with white coating and have been up in bathroom for and kitchen for 10years with no probs.

At back of the house we have ‘perfect fit’ blinds (and also a cheaper variation!) which click into window frame themselves but the benefit of that is that you can have them come up from the bottom or have them only covering a bit of the window which might be more versatile for privacy??

How often you will be standing outside your own house and staring at the front of it?

Forget what the neighbours and passers-by think. What will you think? If you will be perpetually bothered by it every time you arrive home and look at your house, then choose something else. If you don't think it will matter to you, then go for the blinds in the rooms you want.
