I have bought some self adhesive wall paper and I was expecting to peel something off the back of it but according to the instructions the entire roll actually needs to be soaked in a trough for 90 seconds. Would it be a bad idea to just put the wallpaper in the bath if I don’t have a trough?

I would say it’s the soaking that matters, not the vessel! Unless it’s for the kitchen and you then have to carry it dripping through the whole house, I’d say it would be fine!

It’s wallpaper for the bathroom. If I get wallpaper that needs to be soaked for another room I’ll get a trough

Just give the bath a good rinse out as soon as you can after emptying it, I suspect some of the adhesive will leech into the water and you may end up with stickiness in the bath if you don’t rinse it well.

I would probably soak it length by length as you go along. Does it say how long you can leave it soaking? I would also be a bit concerned that cutting a length off a soaking wet roll would be a disaster, just my thoughts.

Cut the required length of wallpaper from the roll and soak it for the exact length of time in the instructions. Its then easy to fold into a concertina and apply to the wall.

Wallpaper adhesive usually has a fungus killer in it so clean the bath thoroughly.

Good luck - it will be fine.
