I keep changing my mind. Kitchen being fitted in a few weeks. Units are navy blue. My first choice was wooden worktops, I've had wood before and they do get marked, water stains, casserole dish marks, (if hubby turns them upside down to dry 🤣). Or quartz worktop in grey.

Are the wall tiles what you would go for? I think they look very cold with the quartz, so if you go quartz I would put in warmer/colourful tiles.
My cousin has white quartz and she hates that it shows all the streaks when you wipe with a wet cloth, so she has to go over it with a tea towel every time to rub the streaks off. I don't know if that's all quartz or just hers though.
What type of wood did you have before? I've heard iroko is far more durable than oak for example. Not all wood is equal.

Grimbeorn, no won't have those tiles, that was just the designers pics. I think we had oak before.. I prefer the look now the wood, but nots it's durability.

How about HiMax / Corning, it’s called a number of things. Bit more expensive but very durable, easy to maintain, damage can be repaired and antibacterial. It’s like a resin so can be moulded up onto window sills etc.
