Get rid of carpets and curtains if you haven’t already done so.
It didn’t really go until decorated top to bottom, but having windows open as much as possible helped.
it’s a horrible stink if you’re not a smoker, but probably helped put other buyers off!

Clean using sugar soap but wear rubber gloves as it's very drying. Buy an ozone generator and use it room by room to remove the smell.

Get rid of carpets and clean the walls with sugar soap before repainting.

The wee smell is the killer it's likely in the carpet and underlay. Possibly throughout the house if they were incontinent and in denial about it. Probably best to throw the carpets and underlay out asap in the worst affected rooms and replace. however you could try baking soda like shake and vac, leaving overnight and hoover up the next day. I'd probably want to get them shampooed too. Cigarette smoke - windows wide open to air out as much as possible. Wash any curtains and other soft furnishings.

wash down walls ceilings and paintwork. They'll look brighter for it without the nicotine staining
I have a recollection of putting little bowls of white vinegar out when clearing my uncles house. I think it might have worked but not sure, I do remember opening the windows because of the stink of vinegar!

Remove the carpets, clean floors with those pet cleaning products which break down the enzymes. Sugar soap the walls, air it lots. Paint everything.

If the wee smell doesn't go when you remove the carpets you might need to bin all the floors and start again with new wooden floors. The smoke on the walls and ceilings should come off with sugar soap.

Yep. Sugar soap is your friend! Every wall and ceiling and door - we found a sponge mop the best thing. We ripped out every carpet and took down every soft furnishing - nets and lampshades. We used an ozone generator, and an air purifier when we were in the rooms. Then stainblock paint on every surface before you paint the Dulux one is great. It wasn't long before it lessened but probably 6/8 weeks till it was mainly gone. Even now we sometimes find a whiff!

I would get rid of whatever you can, I'm assuming that it's basically toxic and has seeped into things
